The Téléphériques des Glaciers de la Meije transport system spans 2150 vertical meters, connecting La Grave village to the Ruillans Pass at 3211 meters elevation.
The cable car infrastructure was established in 1974, creating a direct connection between La Grave and the alpine glaciers for winter sports and summer exploration.
The cable car system hosts the Derby de la Meije event, bringing together 700 competitors from over 20 countries for mountain competitions and workshops.
Adult tickets cost 31 euros, child tickets 21 euros, with daily operations from July through September and weekend service continuing until mid-September.
From the summit station, visitors can observe multiple mountain ranges including the Belledonne massif, Thabor, Aravis, and Mont Blanc in a complete panoramic view.
