Téléphériques des Glaciers de la Meije is an aerial tramway system that connects the mountain village of La Grave to the high alpine zone above, with multiple stations serving different elevations. The route ascends through forested terrain and opens into stark, snowy landscapes at higher levels.

The cable car system was constructed in the 1970s to provide access to the glaciers and high alpine terrain surrounding La Grave. This development opened the region to mountaineers and winter sports enthusiasts.

The cable car system hosts the Derby de la Meije event, bringing together 700 competitors from over 20 countries for mountain competitions and workshops.

The complete ascent takes roughly 40 minutes and may be interrupted by poor weather or heavy snow. Bring warm layers as temperatures drop significantly with elevation.

On clear days, the upper station offers views of several major mountain ranges including Mont Blanc and Thabor from a single vantage point. This sweeping panorama across multiple peaks is uncommon for visitors in this area.
