Ouvrage Les Rochilles, Military fortification in Névache, France
The fortification stands at an altitude of 2,420 meters in the Cerces massif, featuring an entry block, two infantry blocks, and one observation block.
Built starting from 1931 as part of the Alpine extension of the Maginot Line, the fortification remained incomplete by the time World War II began in 1940.
The structure represents French military engineering strategies of the interwar period, demonstrating the nation's approach to Alpine border protection.
Access to the fortification requires proper lighting equipment, as the interior sections present limited visibility throughout the concrete and steel corridors.
The 91st Bataillon Alpin de Fortresse operated this mountain stronghold, which connects to Plan-Lachat through an aerial transport system.
