Grand Séru, Mountain peak in the Massif des Cerces, France

Grand Séru is a 2,889 meter peak in the Cottian Alps characterized by steep slopes and exposed rock faces. The mountain displays the rugged appearance typical of high-altitude Alpine terrain with broad views across neighboring ridges and valleys.

The peak has functioned as a natural boundary between Alpine territories since medieval times. Its position made it a recognized landmark for shepherds and travelers crossing the high mountain passes.

The peak draws climbers from across the region who come to experience high-altitude mountain culture. Regular visits by local Alpine clubs keep the tradition of mountain pursuits alive in this part of the Alps.

The mountain is accessible via marked hiking trails from a nearby ski resort, making the peak reachable in a single day. Visitors should prepare for changing weather conditions and rocky terrain, especially on the upper portions of the route.

From this location, visitors can see two other well-known peaks: Pic du Thabor and Roc de Valmeinier. This vantage point makes it an excellent spot to understand the broader geography of the entire Alpine range.
