Punta Quattro Sorelle

Punta Quattro Sorelle is a mountain summit in the Cozie Alps, positioned at the border between Italy and France. The landscape features steep slopes, rocky terrain, and sparse vegetation typical of high Alpine regions.

This mountain was entirely Italian territory until the Paris Treaty of 1947 redrew Alpine borders after World War II. Military fortifications from the pre-war era remain visible throughout the surrounding region.

This summit sits at the border between Italy and France, where both cultures meet and share the Alpine landscape. Hikers from both countries use the same paths, creating a place where mountain traditions blend together.

The main access to the summit follows marked hiking trails available at various difficulty levels. Visitors should prepare for alpine conditions including sudden weather changes and snow patches, especially in spring and autumn.

This summit sits within a protected nature reserve designated for its rare Alpine plant and animal species. The reserve provides habitat for species found nowhere else in the region, making it a critical conservation area.
