Posavski Podgajci

Posavski Podgajci is a rural settlement in eastern Croatia situated within the Vukovar-Srijem County municipality of Drenovci. The area lies near the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina and supports local education through an elementary school serving children from the settlement and surrounding communities.

The settlement began in the late 17th century when people from the medieval noble estate of Alsan moved to the current location. This relocation marked the origin of the community and its ties to the neighboring noble lands.

The Holy Trinity celebration serves as the village's patron day, held on the first Sunday after Pentecost in the local calendar. This observance reflects how the community marks its religious heritage throughout the year.

Visitors will find the Davorin Trstenjak elementary school as a central facility that also serves children from neighboring villages. The location is best reached by road through the rural countryside that connects the area.

The football club NK Posavac was founded in 1930 and represents the settlement in regional competitions. The club has connected generations of residents through their shared interest in the sport.
