The complex includes a corn mill and a flax mill, each powered by separate waterwheels connected to a one-kilometer-long millrace system.
The mills operated from early 1800s until mid-1900s, with Patrick Gallagher making substantial improvements to the corn mill machinery in 1907.
The site represents Ulster's agricultural processing traditions, where corn and flax mills operated together to support local farming communities.
Located 5 kilometers west of Letterkenny on R250 Churchill Road, the facility provides guided tours demonstrating traditional grain processing methods.
The mill features one of Ireland's largest functioning waterwheels, measuring 7.63 meters, manufactured in 1867 and still operating today.
