Hählekopf

Hählekopf is a mountain peak in the Allgäu Alps that rises to 2058 meters (6752 feet) above sea level. Multiple paths lead upward through forest clearings and mountain trails to reach the summit.

Schwarzwasserhütte mountain shelter was built at 1620 meters (5315 feet), making mountain tours in the area more accessible. This shelter with 80 beds transformed how people visited the peak.

The mountain draws winter sports enthusiasts who gather on its eastern and southern slopes from December through April for ski tours. This seasonal activity shapes how visitors experience the area.

Two main routes lead to the summit: a direct path of about 8.5 kilometers and a trail via Schwarzwasserhütte of about 7 kilometers, both starting from the mountain touring parking area. Visitors should be prepared for changing conditions, especially during winter and early spring.

The mountain transforms with the seasons: a winter ski touring destination in the cold months, yet a popular hiking spot in summer with multiple trail options. This seasonal shift offers visitors entirely different experiences throughout the year.
