Tübinger Hütte, Mountain hut in Garneratal valley, Vorarlberg, Austria.
Tübinger Hütte is a mountain shelter located in the Garneratal valley at 2,191 meters elevation, providing lodging and meals for hikers and climbers. The building sits among rocky peaks with views of the surrounding Silvretta mountains and access to multiple hiking routes.
The refuge was built in 1908 by the German Alpine Club as one of the first organized mountain shelter points in the region. Its establishment enabled systematic mountaineering activity and training for generations of climbers.
The hut serves as a gathering place where visitors share meals and stories in a close-knit mountain community atmosphere. Local recipes passed down through generations shape the daily rhythm of the kitchen and dining areas.
The shelter is reachable on foot from Gaschurn village via mountain trails and operates seasonally from July through September. Visitors should bring cash and pack warm clothing even in summer months, as the altitude means cool nights are common.
Seven distinctive rock formations around the shelter serve as training zones for climbers to practice techniques. These natural features have become a valued spot for hands-on mountain instruction and skill development.
