Lamela

Lamela is a residential tower in Zenica with 27 floors and a height exceeding 100 meters. The building contains approximately 230 apartments along with commercial and office spaces at ground level, standing as the city's tallest structure.

The building was completed in 1976 during Yugoslavia's era and was originally planned with 30 floors. The number of stories was later reduced due to environmental concerns that influenced the final design.

The structure displays Brutalist design typical of Yugoslavia's era, with its distinctive stepped sections shaping the city's appearance. This building remains a defining landmark that reflects how architectural choices from that period continue to influence the urban landscape.

The building sits slightly away from the main boulevard and is easy to spot as the city's tallest structure. Its central location makes it a recognizable reference point for navigating the area and finding nearby streets or landmarks.

Architect Slobodan Jovandić intentionally positioned the structure away from the main boulevard to allow space for future road expansions. This forward-planning approach shows how architectural decisions shaped the city's growth possibilities for decades.
