Chocoladefabriek Nerem, Art Nouveau chocolate factory in Nerem, Belgium
The Chocoladefabriek Nerem features a 165-meter-long industrial building with reinforced concrete construction and red brick exterior along the railway tracks.
Built in 1909 by Florent Rosmeulen, this facility manufactured Belgian chocolate and gingerbread products during the early twentieth century industrial period.
The structure incorporates distinctive Art Nouveau architectural elements, including a decorative horseshoe-shaped window positioned above the main entrance.
The factory complex has transformed into residential units with lofts reaching 4.80-meter ceilings, equipped with underfloor heating and modern ventilation systems.
The development preserves the original concrete framework while allowing residents to customize their living spaces within the industrial heritage structure.
