Tim Hortons Field, Sports stadium in Hamilton, Canada
Tim Hortons Field is a stadium in Hamilton, Ontario, built to hold around 23,000 spectators. The arena features covered seating areas and was designed to host both Canadian football and soccer matches.
The stadium opened in September 2014 and replaced Ivor Wynne Stadium, which had been in operation since 1930. Construction took nearly two years and marked the beginning of a new era for professional sports in Hamilton.
The facility serves as the primary venue for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League and Forge FC of the Canadian Premier League.
The facility is located on Melrose Avenue North and operates on a cashless payment system only. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the grounds, and security checks take place at the entrance.
The seats measure 21 to 24 inches (53 to 61 cm) across, making them among the widest in Canadian sports arenas. The high-definition screen above the field is one-fifth larger than the one used at the old stadium.
