The FirstOntario Concert Hall features a main theatre called the Great Hall with a stage width of 37.35 meters and adjustable depth from 11.4 to 16.4 meters.
Opening its doors in 1973 as Hamilton Place, the venue received funding from the Joyce Family Foundation in 1998 and acquired its current name through FirstOntario Credit Union in 2016.
The Hamilton Philharmonic Orchestra performs regularly at this venue, which presents numerous theatrical productions, concerts, and seasonal events throughout the calendar year.
With 2,193 seats in the main theatre and 350 seats in The Studio, the concert hall provides multiple spaces for performances while connecting directly to the Hamilton Convention Centre.
The venue recorded notable performances including Chris de Burgh The Video concert and the comedy film Bill Cosby: Himself within its walls during 1983.
