O'Keefe House, Victorian residence in downtown Toronto, Canada
The golden-brick house on Bond Street contains three floors with double and triple rooms, featuring shared kitchenettes and bathrooms on each level.
Eugene O'Keefe acquired the property in 1879 near his brewery and lived there until his death in 1913 in his second-floor bedroom.
The residence building fostered student interactions through sports activities, including intramural dodgeball and volleyball tournaments among its 33 residents.
Toronto Metropolitan University operated this student housing facility from 1964 until 2018, when it closed due to the opening of new residences.
Students maintained a tradition of passing a gavel during house meetings to recognize individuals who performed beneficial actions for the community.
