Zanzibar Tavern

Zanzibar Tavern is an adult entertainment club on Yonge Street with multiple performance stages, private spaces, and a main bar area. The venue is organized around these different zones to accommodate various patron preferences throughout the evening.

Founded in 1959, the venue is one of the last remaining establishments from Toronto's original adult entertainment district along Yonge Street. It has operated continuously through major social transformations that reshaped the surrounding neighborhood.

The club is located downtown and requires visitors to be at least 19 years old. Both cash and credit cards are accepted, and the interior is heated and comfortable year-round.

During the pandemic, the establishment partnered with local advocacy groups to provide vaccination clinics in its spaces. This unusual partnership revealed a different side of the business and its connection to the community.
