Rogers Communications Centre, Media education facility at Toronto Metropolitan University, Canada
Rogers Communications Centre is a media production facility at Toronto Metropolitan University housing three high-definition television studios and multiple audio recording spaces. The centre serves students learning broadcast journalism and digital media production.
Established in 1992 through a substantial donation from Ted Rogers and Loretta Rogers, the facility was created to advance media education at the university. Their support enabled the construction of professional-grade broadcast facilities for student use.
Student-run news outlets operate from this space, giving students hands-on experience in journalism and reporting within their academic environment. These working spaces shape how future media professionals develop their skills.
Free parking is available after 6 PM in the lot behind the facility and Pitman Hall, making evening visits more convenient. Plan your visit later in the day if you need parking access.
The facility houses specialized research spaces including the FCAD Audience Lab, which focuses on audience engagement and media literacy. These areas allow students to conduct research beyond traditional production work.
