Trader's Bank Building, High-rise bank building at Yonge Street, Toronto, Canada
The Trader's Bank Building rises 15 floors with a stone, brick, and terra cotta exterior, featuring tall rectangular windows and ornate columns between them.
Completed in 1906, this 55-meter structure remained the tallest building in the British Commonwealth until the Royal Liver Building surpassed it in 1911.
The building's banking hall spans two floors with a central staircase entrance and teller cages positioned along the perimeter of the room.
The structure contains fire doors that automatically close elevator shafts and staircases during emergencies, plus two large fire escapes at the rear.
The construction required two million bricks and 1700 tons of steel beams, with workers completing approximately one floor per week.
