Thusis

Tosanna is an administrative division in Graubünden in southeastern Switzerland, encompassing the municipality of Thusis and its surrounding villages and valleys. The area spans Alpine landscapes and connects several river valleys together.

Thusis was founded as a settlement in the Middle Ages and later developed into an important administrative center for the surrounding Alpine valleys. Its modern administrative structure took its current form through the evolution of Swiss cantonal organization.

The municipality carries three names: Tosanna in Italian and Tusàun in Romansh, showing the linguistic diversity of this region. This multilingual identity is visible in everyday signs and communication throughout the area.

The location sits at a junction of valleys and is well accessible via the main road connecting the Prättigau and Schanfigg regions. Visitors will find the necessary services and facilities here for an extended stay or a stopover.
