Schloss Freudenberg, Regional heritage château near Lake Zug, Switzerland
The château stands on landscaped grounds spanning 91.5 hectares, including 6.5 hectares of woodland near the shores of Lake Zug.
British architects Howard Robertson and J. Murray Easton designed the château in 1933 for Erwin Hürlimann, former silk merchant and Swiss Re insurance head.
The property received recognition as a class B Swiss cultural property, representing architectural heritage within the Canton of Zug's collection of historical structures.
The château grounds are open to visitors, featuring gardens redesigned in the 1960s and 1970s by English landscape architect Russell Page.
Margaret and Denis Thatcher frequently vacationed at the château when Lady Glover owned it, leaving their mark by planting two trees on the grounds.
