La Baronata, 18th-century villa in Minusio, Switzerland
The villa complex consists of two main buildings and two secondary structures situated on a hillside between Minusio and Tenero-Contra.
Giovanni Antonio Marcacci commissioned the lower Baronata as a summer residence in the late 18th century, while Mikhail Bakunin built the upper section in 1873.
The villa became a gathering place for anarchist intellectuals, including Andrea Costa, Lodovico Nabruzzi, Enrico Malatesta, and Giuseppe Fanelli during Bakunin's residence.
The property remains in private ownership and does not offer public access, though its exterior architecture remains visible from nearby roads.
The villa features a distinctive first-floor loggia and a corner tower in its lower section, reflecting the architectural styles of different periods.
