Huairou District, Administrative district in northern Beijing, China

The Huairou district extends across 2,557 square kilometers of terrain, with mountains covering 90 percent of the total area and forests occupying 69 percent.

The district gained international recognition in 1995 when it hosted the Civil Society meetings during the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women.

The China Film Group Corporation established major production facilities in Yangsong town, transforming Huairou into a center for Chinese cinema production.

Travelers can reach Huairou through suburban trains at Yanqihu and Huairou North stations or by taking buses 916 and 866 from central Beijing.

The Mutianyu section of the Great Wall within Huairou district features restored watchtowers and provides direct cable car access to the ancient fortification.
