Rose Island, Archaeological heritage site in Lake Starnberg, Germany.
The royal villa on Rose Island features circular gardens with traditional rose beds situated directly in front of the main building structure.
King Maximilian II commissioned the Casino villa in the 19th century, later becoming a cherished residence for his son Ludwig II of Bavaria.
Numerous archaeological finds around Rose Island reveal evidence of prehistoric pile dwellings dating back to 5000 BC beneath Lake Starnberg's waters.
Visitors can reach the island via ferry service from May to October, with tours available between noon and 6 PM except on Mondays.
The 233-meter-long island contains reconstructed 3D-printed artifacts displaying the ancient settlement discoveries found in the surrounding waters.
