Bischofsgrün

Bischofsgrün is a health resort in Bayreuth situated at 676 meters elevation between Schneeberg and Ochsenkopf mountains. The village is surrounded by extensive forests and offers numerous marked hiking trails that guide visitors through the landscape.

The village established itself as a health destination through the development of specialized wellness facilities and recognition by the German Spa Association. This infrastructure development made it an important spa destination in the Franconia region.

During winter, the village becomes a special snowman destination where visitors join in local celebrations and seasonal activities. This tradition shapes community life and draws people who want to experience this distinctive winter tradition.

The village has 12 restaurants and accommodations to suit different needs. The Tourist Information center regularly organizes lectures, concerts, and guided tours, especially during the warmer months from May to October.

The village has established itself as the world's only dedicated snowman village and receives approximately 100 snow days annually. This exceptional snowfall makes it a rare location for winter activities and snow traditions.
