Bismarck Tower

Bismarck Tower is a stone structure with a square base that rises 19 meters high and features four columns. Inside, 74 steps lead to an observation platform where visitors can view the surrounding landscape.

This monument was built in 1900 by Karl Ferdinand von Stumm-Halberg, a mining industrialist from Saarland, to honor Chancellor Otto von Bismarck following his death. Its construction reflects the region's respect for Bismarck's political influence during the 19th century.

The tower displays Bismarck's coat of arms on its front and features a bronze inscription with an eagle relief looking toward the valley. These symbols create a place where visitors can directly encounter visual reminders of the past.

The tower is located on Kirchberg Hill and can be reached on foot from nearby residential areas within about 15 minutes. The climb is moderate and the location offers good views of the surrounding area from the platform at the top.

During the Advent season, a large white neon cross is installed on the outside of the tower and is visible throughout the valley at night. This seasonal addition gives the location a different character and makes it a special sight during the holiday period.
