Burg Lahr, Medieval castle ruins in Burglahr, Germany.

The stone remains of Burg Lahr stand on a wooded hilltop at 207 meters elevation, featuring a 25-meter round tower above the Wied river valley.

The castle, constructed between 1300 and 1400, served as a fiefdom of the Counts of Isenburg before changing ownership to Count Heinrich of Nassau in 1449.

A community flag raising ceremony takes place at the castle ruins every May 1st, followed by a Christmas tree placement during the first Advent Sunday.

Visitors can access the castle ruins through woodland paths starting at Burgstraße, with options to rent an on-site wooden hut for gatherings.

The castle tower underwent complete restoration in 2014 and 2015, preserving its medieval structure while maintaining the original architectural elements.
