Burg Ziegenberg

Burg Ziegenberg is a medieval castle ruin sitting on elevated ground near Ziegenhagen with partially preserved stone walls and foundations. The remains show different building phases and can be reached from the nearby village.

The fortress was built in the medieval period as a fortification and played a role in the territorial conflicts of the Hesse region. It was later abandoned and deteriorated into the ruins visible to visitors today.
