Dreieckiger Pfahl, Boundary marker in Goslar, Germany.
The granite Dreieckiger Pfahl rises 1.35 meters high at an elevation of 870 meters, marking the border between Saxony-Anhalt and Lower Saxony states.
The marker originated in 1698 and underwent multiple replacements, with the current stone established before 1866 to separate the Kingdom of Hanover from Brunswick.
The stone displays carved letters KH for Kingdom of Hanover on two sides and HB for Duchy of Brunswick on the third side.
Hikers can find the marker 2.5 kilometers east of the B4 federal road parking area, between Torfhaus and Oderbrück, with a rest area nearby.
A small restaurant operated at this location until April 1945, when American troops destroyed it after discovering enemy soldiers hiding in the vicinity.
