Haus der Schweiz, Office building in Mitte, Germany
The Haus der Schweiz stands at the intersection of Unter den Linden and Friedrichstrasse, featuring rounded colonnade arches at ground level and limestone cladding.
Swiss architect Ernst Meier designed this steel-frame structure between 1934 and 1936 for the Swiss Land Credit Institution, incorporating elements of 1930s architectural style.
A memorial sculpture of Walter Tell, son of Swiss national figure William Tell, marks the corner of this limestone-clad building in central Berlin.
The building maintains its original office functions while incorporating hotel facilities, following extensive renovation work after German reunification in the 1990s.
This structure remains the only preserved historical corner building at the intersection of Unter den Linden and Friedrichstrasse following World War II.
