Gervinuspark

Gervinuspark is a green space in Frohnhausen that spans five hectares and offers multiple play zones, sports facilities, and mature trees throughout. The grounds include a water playground, climbing structures, a basketball court, and table tennis facilities for different visitors.

The grounds were originally Westfriedhof cemetery, established in 1874, and were converted into a public park in 1960. The park was named after historian Georg Gottfried Gervinus.

The park preserves historical tombstones and the Kerckhoff family vault that speak to the local community's past. Visitors can encounter these reminders while walking through the green spaces.

The park has three play zones designed for different age groups with various activities like water play and sports. Visitors should know the grounds cover a large area and are designed for extended stays.

The water play area features a pump system that lets children control water flowing down a rocky slope. This design seamlessly blends water play with an adjacent sand zone.
