Nossener Brücke, Road bridge and street in Dresden, Germany
The Nossener Bridge is made up of four connected road sections stretching around 700 meters across Dresden. This structure forms a key part of the city's outer ring road and carries the federal highway B173.
The bridge was first built in 1889 under the name Hohenzollern Bridge. It was completely rebuilt between 1959 and 1964 to handle the growing volume of traffic.
The name comes from the Saxon town of Nossen, known for its monastery heritage. This naming reflects the local connection to the region's religious and building traditions.
The bridge links the Lobtau neighborhood with the intersection of Budapester Street and Nürnberger Street. Keep in mind that it has four lanes and serves as a major traffic route through the city.
Future renovation plans include adding tram line 7 and building a new S-Bahn station underneath the bridge. These changes will significantly modernize how people move through this part of Dresden.
