Gossberg

The Gossberg summit rises 483 meters above sea level in the Hunsrück mountain range of Rhineland-Palatinate, featuring reinforced concrete structures and military installations.

Between 1984 and 1989, the United States Forces transformed the summit into a nuclear-biological-chemical bunker, serving as a NATO communication center for European operations.

The area surrounding Gossberg contains archaeological evidence of Roman settlements, including a villa rustica discovered during excavations in the 1930s.

The facility includes three underground levels with laboratories, storage areas, and technical rooms, connected by reinforced corridors and protected by armored entrance doors.

The bunker structure extends 13.30 meters underground with eight load-bearing walls and maintains separate shield hulls designed to withstand direct nuclear strikes.
