Haus Sorgenfrei, Baroque cultural heritage monument in Radebeul, Germany.
Haus Sorgenfrei is a baroque mansion in Radebeul with two stories, a domed bell tower, and ornamental details throughout. The estate includes the main residence, a garden hall building, and a gardener's house arranged across the property grounds.
The property was built on the site of an earlier vineyard dating to the early 18th century. Between 1783 and 1789, banker Christian Friedrich von Gregor commissioned architect Johann August Giesel to construct the baroque estate in its place.
The name references Potsdam's Sanssouci Palace, with both meaning 'without worries' in their respective languages. The house was built as a residence for a wealthy banker and reflects the lifestyle of the upper classes of its time.
The property now operates as a hotel and restaurant venue, with parts of the historic rooms accessible to visitors. The best views of the house and gardens can be seen by walking the paths around the main building.
The estate contains two separate pleasure gardens situated at different elevations on the property. One garden sits adjacent to the manor house while the other extends behind the entire building group.
