Hotel Victoria

Hotel Victoria was a five-story building with a U-shaped structure built in 1894 and located beside the Central Station. The building contained a grand restaurant, a banquet hall, and two separate entrances on Friedrichstrasse.

The building dates from 1894 and followed late classical historicist style. Later in the 20th century, it changed its purpose and was converted into a hospice.

The building served as a gathering place for theologians and writers during the late 19th century. Intellectuals and creative figures regularly met here and shaped the city's cultural life.

The hotel stood directly beside Central Station, making it very convenient for business travelers and conference attendees. Its central location provided easy access to the city's industrial and business quarters.

Construction company Jäger and Decker completed the entire hotel building in just 15 months following architects Bihl and Woltz's designs. This rapid construction timeline was remarkable for such a large and complex project.
