Neviges

The Neviges district features narrow streets lined with traditional half-timbered houses surrounding a central round square near the Protestant church.

The area belonged to the Hardenberg dominion until 1354 when Count Gerhard of Julich-Berg purchased the territory and established administrative control.

The Neviges Pilgrimage Cathedral, designed in 1966 by Gottfried Bohm, stands as a concrete structure with 3,000 seats and contains notable stained glass windows.

Visitors can access Neviges by taking exit 3-Tonisheide from the A535 highway and following Kuhlendahler Street east toward Bernsaustrasse.

The cathedral houses an image of the Immaculate Conception that has drawn religious pilgrims to this location since 1681.
