During the 1980s and 1990s, Tippelsberg functioned as a disposal site for construction materials and soil from the U35 subway line construction.
Local legends tell of giant Tippilus who created the hill when emptying clay from his shoes while walking through the region.
The summit features multiple access paths, including a serpentine route and a children's path, with steel steles indicating points of interest.
Eight viewing platforms with specialized peepholes direct visitors toward specific landmarks across the Ruhr region from the hilltop location.
