Stüppel

Stüppel is a mountain summit in the Rothaar Mountains standing at approximately 732 meters above sea level. The peak drops away steeply on its western, northern, and eastern sides, shaping the landscape of the Sauerland region.

The mountain has been home to broadcast infrastructure that shaped the surrounding area. The 2007 Kyrill storm caused extensive woodland loss on the northern slope, leaving visible marks on the forest that persist today.

The mountain hosts Fort Fun leisure park, which has become a gathering place for visitors from the surrounding region. The recreation options reflect how the location shapes family experiences in the area.

A steel lattice tower with a viewing platform about 30 meters high offers views across the Sauerland toward the Westphalian Plain. On clear days, visitors can enjoy broad panoramic sights from the top across the surrounding landscape.

The site combines a ski resort with chairlift access and hiking trails, allowing visitors to pursue different activities depending on the season. Winter and summer each bring distinct recreational options to the same location.
