Speed Snake, Steel roller coaster in Fort Fun Abenteuerland, Wasserfall, Germany
The Speed Snake roller coaster features a track length of 350 meters with green supporting structures and reaches speeds of up to 60 kilometers per hour.
Opening in June 1981 under the name Wirbelwind, this Vekoma Whirlwind model received its current name Speed Snake in 2010 along with a new train system.
The design incorporates a snake theme throughout the ride structure, reflecting the German engineering precision in amusement park attractions of the 1980s.
The roller coaster accommodates 1,350 riders per hour, with seven cars holding four passengers each, requiring a minimum height of 140 centimeters for unaccompanied rides.
In 2017, Speed Snake received a specialized Sunkid Heege train featuring lap bars instead of shoulder restraints, enhancing the sensation of freedom during the ride.
