Vogteihaus Gummersbach, Historic administrative building in Gummersbach, Germany

The Vogteihaus is a two-story rubble stone building with single-story extensions on its narrow sides and a steep hipped roof. The interior has been renovated and offers various spaces for gatherings and events.

The building was constructed in 1700 and served as the residence and administrative seat of bailiff Johann Pollmann for the historical domain of Gimborn-Neustadt. The construction year is preserved in iron anchors displayed on the facade.

The main entrance bears a Latin inscription expressing thoughts about the temporary nature of human existence. Visitors can still encounter this philosophical message when entering the building today.

The building is visible from outside at any time and invites a walk through the old town. Visitors should note that access to the interior spaces depends on current events and activities.

Inside the building is a baroque staircase with original balusters that shows the craftsmanship of the period. This ornamental element is a rare remnant of the original interior.
