The Hardenbergsches Haus features symmetrical architecture with a high mansard roof and a central projection connected to a double-flight staircase.
Friedrich Karl von Hardenberg commissioned architect Johann Paul Heumann to build this residence between 1749 and 1751, including winter rooms for plant protection.
The building incorporates French classical influences in its late baroque design, with detailed oil paintings embedded within the garden hall wall panels.
Located at Alte Herrenhäuser Straße 10, the palace now serves as a conference venue and guest house for special events since its renovation in 2000.
General Édouard Adolphe Mortier established his headquarters here in 1803, followed by Jean Baptiste Jules Bernadotte, future King of Sweden and Norway.
