Fernmeldemuseum Dresden, Telecommunications museum in central Dresden, Germany
The Fernmeldemuseum Dresden displays a collection of telecommunications equipment across two floors, including telephone exchanges and transmission systems from different periods.
The museum occupies part of the former Telekom building at Postplatz, where Dresden's first manual telephone exchange began operating in 1882.
The museum preserves the technical heritage of German telecommunications through exhibits that demonstrate the evolution of communication methods from the 19th century.
The museum opens on the first Saturday of each month from 10:00 to 15:00, with guided tours starting at the beginning of each hour.
Visitors can interact with functioning historical telephone equipment and experience a replicated 1990s switching room during guided tours.
