Hundertwasserhaus Plochingen

Hundertwasserhaus Plochingen is a residential complex featuring an inner courtyard surrounded by apartments and commercial units, characterized by irregular shapes and multicolored surfaces. The central plaza is defined by green areas and active spaces that structure the entire site.

The project emerged from a design competition and was built between November 1991 and August 1994. Architects Heinz Springmann and Siegfried Kaltenbach brought Hundertwasser's artistic concept to life.

The structure embodies Hundertwasser's belief in blending nature with living spaces through curved forms and abundant greenery throughout. The colorful, irregular facades create a lively environment that deliberately stands apart from conventional building design.

The complex combines residential areas with retail shops, supported by a two-level underground parking facility beneath the site. Visitors can freely explore the public areas and courtyard to view the architectural details from various angles.

A 33-meter-tall Rain Tower adorned with four golden spheres stands as the complex's focal point, enriching the ensemble visually and functionally. The tower collects rainwater while serving as an artwork that defines the entire site.
