St. Barbara, Gothic church building in Abensberg, Germany
The three-nave hall church features a gabled roof, pointed arch windows, and a bell tower with a quadrangular base displaying Gothic architecture.
Construction of St. Barbara Church began around 1400, initially as a single-nave structure, and Master Ludwig from Pfeffenhausen completed the vaulting in 1516.
The interior walls display restored paintings from 1585, including scenes of the Last Judgment, Baptism, and Resurrection of Christ on the gallery parapet.
The church contains three entrances with the north portal housing a nativity scene featuring Baroque period figurines.
The tower, rebuilt in 1762 by Christoph Wolf after lightning damage, combines unadorned Gothic levels with a Baroque upper floor featuring rounded corners.
