Gut Rixförde

Gut Rixförde is a historic country estate in Hambühren consisting of a main house and a garden pavilion set within a private park landscape. The pavilion, completed in 1911 by architect Paul Schultze-Naumburg, contains a central hall with two adjoining rooms designed for both comfort and social purposes.

The estate began in 1883 when shipowner Friedrich Leopold Loesener built a Swiss-style structure as the foundation for the manor. The refined garden pavilion arrived in 1911, adding an architectural highlight to the property decades later.

The neoclassical garden pavilion served as a gathering place for notable visitors and continues to define the estate's character. Its rooms reflect a thoughtful design that balanced private comfort with entertaining distinguished guests.

The estate is located west of Celle in Lower Saxony and can be accessed through local roads and infrastructure. The garden pavilion was partially renovated in 2015 and now hosts cultural events throughout the year.

The garden pavilion has an oval footprint with a single story, an unusual architectural choice for its era. This compact design allowed a grand entertaining space to fit within an intimate footprint.
