Rudersdal Municipality, Administrative municipality in Capital Region, Denmark
Rudersdal is a municipality north of Copenhagen with residential neighborhoods and green spaces spread across hilly terrain. Villages like Birkerød and Søllerød form the centers of settled areas, with parks and natural zones between them.
The municipality took shape in 2007 when Birkerød and Søllerød merged during Denmark's administrative reform. This combination was part of a nationwide restructuring of local government.
The town hall from 1942 shows Danish architecture through designs by Arne Jacobsen and Flemming Lassen. It shapes how the community gathers and reflects the design values important to the area.
The area connects to Copenhagen via two rail lines: the Hillerød radial line in the west and the Coast Line in the east. Both routes let visitors and commuters reach the municipality easily.
A greenway called KulturSlangen runs 14.5 kilometers from Næsseslottet to the marina in Vedbæk. This path links cultural and natural spots and offers a way to walk through the whole area.
