Gladsaxe teater, Theatre in Buddinge, Denmark
Gladsaxe teater is a cultural venue in Buddinge with two performance spaces of different sizes. The main hall accommodates around 600 spectators, while a smaller studio space seats approximately 90 people for more intimate productions.
It was founded in 1962 by Gladsaxe Municipality under the name Omegnsteateret at Stengårdsskolen in Bagsværd. The venue later moved to Buddinge, underwent major renovations, and reopened in 2007 as Gladsaxe New Theatre.
This venue functions as a gathering place for theatre enthusiasts and performers from the surrounding area. It serves the local community by offering a space where different types of productions can be presented.
The building is located in Buddinge and is easily accessible by public transport. On-site parking is available and the facilities are equipped to host a variety of events and productions.
The building was originally part of Gladsaxe Gymnasium and underwent major transformation during 1997-1998 to create modern theatre spaces. This conversion of a school building shows how flexible uses can preserve community facilities.
