Constantine Gondola lift

The Constantine Gondola lift connects three stations via overhead cables across the deep Rhumel River gorge. The cabin system moves passengers across different elevations to link separated parts of the city above the valley floor.

The system opened in 2008 to solve the challenge of Constantine's mountainous layout and connect isolated neighborhoods. This project made travel between separated parts of the city much easier.

The gondola ride reveals the city's old buildings and the Rhumel River far below as you travel between neighborhoods. The journey connects different parts of town and offers views of daily life and how Constantine spreads across the valley.

The ride takes about 10 minutes with changing views from the cabin throughout the journey. Going early in the day helps you avoid crowds and enjoy clearer sightlines across the valley.

The three stations sit at different elevations, allowing the system to bridge separated neighborhoods across the steep valley. This setup made it possible to connect previously disconnected areas of the city in a practical way.
