Vestiges de Roknia, Prehistoric necropolis in Roknia, Algeria.

The megalithic site extends for two kilometers along a cliff, containing over 3000 dolmens arranged in systematic patterns across the landscape.

Archaeological excavations conducted by Jules René Bourguignat in 1868 revealed bones, pottery, and jewelry similar to Atlantic European megalithic cultures.

These ancient burial structures from the Neolithic period demonstrate the funeral practices and religious beliefs of early North African communities.

The archaeological site requires prior arrangement for visits, as access is controlled by local staff who maintain and protect the structures.

The artifacts discovered at Roknia are now preserved in two locations: the Bardo Museum in Algiers and Saint-Germain-en-Laye in France.
