Colossi of Memnon, Statues in Egypt
The Colossi of Memnon are two massive stone statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III.
Constructed around 1350 BC, these statues have stood for over three millennia.
They are known as 'Memnon' due to a Greek association with the hero of the Trojan War.
Located near Luxor, they are a popular tourist destination in Egypt.
Despite damage from an earthquake, one statue is known to 'sing' at dawn.
