Sorolla Museum, Art museum in Chamberí district, Madrid, Spain
The Sorolla Museum occupies the former residence and studio of painter Joaquín Sorolla, displaying over 1,200 artworks including oil paintings, sketches, and studies.
The building, designed by architect Enrique María Repullés, became a museum in 1932 following the request of Sorolla's widow Clotilde García del Castillo to the Spanish government.
The museum maintains the original furnishings, decorative objects, and a garden designed by Sorolla himself, presenting an authentic early 20th-century Spanish artistic environment.
Located at Paseo del General Martínez Campos 37, the museum operates from Tuesday to Saturday 9:30-20:00 and Sunday 10:00-15:00, with nearby metro stations Gregorio Marañón and Iglesia.
The museum collection continues expanding through Spanish state acquisitions since 1982, featuring extensive documentation of Sorolla's life through letters, photographs, and personal items.
