The building features architectural elements from the 1930s, with a notable entrance hall and spacious study areas designed by Carlos Arniches Moltó.
The Residencia de Señoritas opened its doors in 1915 as Spain's first official center dedicated to promoting university education for women.
Under María de Maeztu's direction until 1936, the institution organized lectures, courses, and exchanges with the International Institute for Girls in Spain.
The facility expanded in 1933 with the addition of the Arniches pavilion to accommodate the growing number of female university students.
The dormitory hosted visits from Marie Curie, María Montessori, and Gabriela Mistral, who contributed to the academic development of residents.
