Teide Cableway, Aerial tramway at Mount Teide National Park in La Orotava, Spain.
The Teide Cableway is an aerial tramway in Teide National Park that connects a lower base station to an upper terminal high on the mountain. The journey takes around eight minutes and climbs steeply through the air.
The cable car began operations in 1971 after extended planning and design work. It has since made it possible for many visitors to reach the higher elevations of the volcano.
The upper station provides access to three marked trails, including the Telesforo Bravo path leading to the summit of Spain's highest peak.
Book tickets online before your visit to avoid long waits. Arrive early to have plenty of time for a relaxed experience.
The upper station sits at a height that is rarely reached at other places in Spain. From there, you can spot the neighboring islands when the weather is clear.
